I am typing from a new laptop. The screen is bigger and so is the keyboard. It’s nice but changing the keyboard size means readjusting my hands to the typing. But I will say that not having technology for a bit was very refreshing. I have been busy prepping for the fall season at the shoppe. There will be alot going on and I encourage you to get involved, come to a class or other event, and partake of all the goodness that we can offer you. The fall season is prime time to gather projects and materials to prepare for the long grey days of winter. Before we get to that though, I have finished the spiderweb table topper and added it to the schedule as a single all day workshop on Friday the 14th of October. 11-4 with a lunch break. It is an intermediate to advanced piecing project. You need to be comfortable with triangles, bias, accurate cutting and a consistent seam allowance at a good quarter inch. If one of those things is off you’ll be ok, but if they all are we need to help you practice a bit before this project. I will have the full supply list up soon, it’s pretty standard but does include a Kaleidoscope ruler (and yes we have them in stock) The project as shown is an 18 inch square. Class is $40.00
I thought you would also like to know that by the time I left the shoppe yesterday there were two chrysalis in the milkweed in front of the shoppe. Love those butterflies, I’m so happy to see these. By the time we have the Handstitchers Club meeting on Tuesday the 13th, they should be butterflies. If you are attending the handstitchers meeting and didn’t get the email a couple days ago let me know and I’ll send it to you. Also keep in mind that on Thursday, the 15th we will have a free Threaditation session at 4.
If you are planning on attending the Punch needle workshop (1-3 on Wedensday the 21st) please let me know as soon as possible so I can make it up for you. Let me know if you want cool or warm colorway, or one of each!!!!
