When we were forced to close down many things went on hold. Now they are all coming back and we have three programs going that I know you want to be a part of. It is so nice to feel this much anticipation, inspiration, and just plain energy flowing again. Your participation in any or all of these programs lets me know that you want me to put in the prodigious efforts it will take for the Shoppe to recover and prosper again.
The first thing is that the fabrics are finally on their way to us for Harvest Moon, the block of the month. If you are on Facebook you may have received an invitation from me for the closed group that will allow us to still have that sense of community that meeting in person forms. I will post photos, videos, and maybe even go live there and it is a place for you to also share your experiences and show and tell as the project goes on. You will also have the option of one on one instruction by appointment on this beautiful quilt, masks required. The first months kit will be available on July 11, and each of the rest will be made available for pickup or mailing on the First Saturday for a total of 8 installments. Since there are some alterations from our usual way of doing things I have put a page on the website with all the details. I have room for more of you so please consider joining us for this adventure.
The second program running now is Quilter’s Trek , formerly Row x Row. The kit is $20.00 and makes one 18 inch panel. We are allowed to mail the kit to you this year but you still need to show up in person (at least to our parking lot) during scheduled hours or by appointment to get the free pattern. Watch for a workshop coming soon to do a lap sized version. If you love a good contest and want all the details there are Facebook groups, and a page on our website.
And third is the Heart in Hand Prayer Flag Project. You can use fabric and floss you have “on Hand”, but I know that lots of you have taken fabric blanks and floss, to get started. I hope to see some finished pieces soon. The messages wont get out into our world unless these flags fly. By July 4th I hope to have a bunch to put up. Please keep going on yours and if you can’t drop the finished one off in person feel free to send it in by USPS. This project is simple enough to do with your kids too. Since they wont be washed the hand outlines can be colored with crayons, markers, acrylic paints, and even beads and sequins can be added with white glue. Have some fun with it. There is a basic tutorial on our website page for this program.
So there they are, three great programs, with something for every level of need, from small and beginner to more involved and longer term. Without you all participating there is no shoppe. Please make an appointment during the week or visit us on Saturdays from 12 -5. Happy Stitching!!!
