There have been a bunch of studies done that say that time in Nature is very good for you. Depending on what study you look at, you can reduce stress or even see clinical results like reducing toxins in the body. But with the weather being what it has the past few days, and through the winter it can be hard to get outside. This is where it gets to be good to have quilts around. So many fabric prints are floral or botanical in nature, and if you look carefully many of our favorite color combinations are based in nature. So go ahead and hang that lovely textile on the wall so you can drink in it’s beauty.
This evening is the first Friday Night Lights event in Red Hook. Many of our shops will be open till 9 pm. Town wants to encourage browsing and enjoyment of our lovely shops and eateries. We will be open, so head a bit north of the light and visit us. I have lots of fun spring and floral fabrics so it could be good for your health!!
This Tuesday our Hand stitchers club will meet, still working on UFO’s or if you prefer I have a small embroidery pattern for a heart that says “Joy ” in the center. bring a 6″ square of fabric, hoop and embroidery floss if you would like to work this one. Our stumpwork club will continue on the nametags. Hope that you all have a great weekend and get to have some time with a nature inspired fabric or two.
