Tomorrow is Halloween, and it has always been one of my favorite holidays. To celebrate, if you come in to the shoppe dressed for the day I’ll give you 20 % off your purchases. Unfortunately this cannot apply to class and club fees, but all fabrics, threads, books, notions, and art supplies. Perfect to get the things you need to finish your fall projects. I will also have candy for the kids. ( and yes Jake and I will be dressed up too )
Next week is a busy and exciting one, I must inform you of two closings, first on Tuesday, we will be opening late, at noon, due to an unavoidable appointment. Then on Wednesday we will be closed all day. I am giving a lecture and workshop on Redwork for the Skillkill Chapter of the Embroiderer’s Guild. Lecture begins at 12:30 at St James Parish Hall in Hyde Park. It is going to be fun. The workshop will be on the annual free ornament pattern. I really love this years design. The free project sheet will be available in the shoppe for the month of November.
Saturday of next week is our first Kindred Spirits meeting, if you are on the list I will
have a kit ready for you. We meet at 9 am, and since there is another workshop that day that begins at 10:30 it would be very helpful if we could begin right at 9. I will be here from about 8:15 so getting here early is ok.
The second workshop that day is the Crazy Quilting Basics workshop with Diane Johnson. There is still room for another student or two so please sign up. We love crazy quilts , and Diane will
have a small selection of them for you to see, and I will have my vintage one on display as well. There is a supply list on our classes page, but if you have anything specific you want to use ( like Grandma’s favorite hankie, or a doily ) bring it. That is one of the most fun parts of crazy quilting, using all those lovelies that would otherwise be sitting in a drawer. Come join us for a super fun time, and like our Facebook page to see photos from all these fun fall events.
