Savoring the moment, sales, and Holiday Hours

Last night was the world premiere of the play,  Degas in New Orleans,  in which my daughter plays Emily,  a bonded free black  in the just post civil war era,  who is the cousin of the painter Degas.   It is based in history,  and my daughters performance was stellar.    She blew me awa.    Yes I will admit to being a bit biased,  but based on audience reaction I am not the only one who thought so.   The very best part for me however was seeing the look on her face when she took her final bow and got to bask for a moment or two in so much love and appreciation.    As long as I live I will never forget that moment.      A mother lives for these things.        If you want to see her and the rest of the amazing cast, they play again tonight at 7 at Bard,   tomorrow at 7 at the Red Hook High School, and again at the High School for IMG_1806a matinée at 3 on Sunday.    You too can then say,  I knew her when!!

Running December 20-31 we will have some sales for you to enjoy,   All Holiday Merchandise,   Gift Items and Books will be 25% off.     Fabric,  Tote bags,  Wrapping paper,   Zentangle sets,   Silk Ribbon assortments,   Fat Quarter Bundles,  Coloring Books,  a few finished quilts in stock,  and of course that quilt book you have had your eye on for yourself too.     In honor of the play, we will also include in the sale,  the “artists” panel aIMG_1975_2nd its coordinates, IMG_1985 yes that Degas in the photo is fabric.    If you just can’t decide what your favorite crafter or quilter would like we also do gift certificates that can be used on classes or materials.
