When I was a kid, I lived very close to the beach and summer was my favorite season, No school, lots of sun, and lots of sand. Now that I am farther inland and a grown up I love Fall. I always love the apples and other fall foods fresh from the orchard up the block, the stunning colors of the trees, especially when the view includes the majestic Hudson, and the cool nights make for the perfect time to start a new hand quilting project. Keeping it on my lap in a comfy chair while stitching is the perfect way to get through the coming Winter.
Tuesday we will be running Hand Quilting Basics at 10 am. It is an introductory class in which we make a small wallhanging or pillow cover using a simple feather design.
If you find that you like the process of hand quilting and want to apply it to a larger project, want to design your own quilting patterns ( like the purple one pictured here ) or just want to figure out how to get past the “Quilt as Desired” instruction, by hand or machine then Choosing and using your quilting designs is the workshop for you, that one is on the 21st, also at 10 am. For more details on these and any of our classes and workshop click the tab at the top of this page.
